Applying for remote content writing roles
What the market looks like
Remote roles draw far more applicants than local ones, so the filtering is harsher and earlier. Employers screen hardest for evidence you can work unsupervised and write clearly, because writing is most of how you will be judged day to day. Name your time zone and your overlap with theirs explicitly — it is the single most common reason a strong remote application gets set aside.
Language
English dominates remote listings, but read each posting: a role advertised as remote is often restricted to specific countries or time zones, and that restriction is usually stated once, in passing.
What content writing employers look for
Published samples in the format the role needs, and what they achieved: traffic, rankings, sign-ups or conversions. Editors hire from the samples first and the CV second.
