Applying for remote sales roles

What the market looks like

Remote roles draw far more applicants than local ones, so the filtering is harsher and earlier. Employers screen hardest for evidence you can work unsupervised and write clearly, because writing is most of how you will be judged day to day. Name your time zone and your overlap with theirs explicitly — it is the single most common reason a strong remote application gets set aside.

Language

English dominates remote listings, but read each posting: a role advertised as remote is often restricted to specific countries or time zones, and that restriction is usually stated once, in passing.

What sales employers look for

Quota and attainment, deal sizes, sales cycle length, and the segment you sold into. Sales hiring is unusually numbers-literate — vague claims are spotted immediately.
